Happy Tuesday sweet friends and welcome to another edition of You've Got This Tuesday where I share wonderful on-writing and publishing tips, tools and tricks so you can take your Author-preneurship to the next level.

Today, let's chat a bit about using Writing Prompts to begin to create a habit of writing each and every day...

One of the questions I'm asked most is this:

I want to write every day, but I just don't know what to write. How do I decide what to write?

The answer that I've personally had the most success with as well as watched my clients regularly crank out pages to is this:

WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL

What do I mean by that? It's very-very simple. Take out your favorite journal or whatever device you like to write on and write whatever you're feeling right at that moment.

Don't worry about whether or not what you end up with has anything to do with what you think you should be writing. Toss out the shoulds and JUST WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL.

By doing so, you allow your muses to get out what they're feeling, and you'll be surprised how often what they're feeling is what your characters are feeling (if you're writing fiction) or what you're feeling and need to put into the non-fiction piece you're working on.

Hands down, the single most successful tip I can give you on the on-writing front.

Now then...once you've done that, feel free to stretch your writing muscles a bit (because they're now all warmed up and raring to go) and try working with a collection of ideas you've been saving to write about.

For example, I have a Pinterest Board called Book Ideas where I put images and ideas that intrigue me and might end up in a book or two.

So...I've got this picture on there...

And I've added the following notes to it:

Who is she? Is she waiting for someone? If so, who? Or is she thinking about someone she misses. If so, who and where are they? Is she sad? Hurt? Hopeful? #novelideas

See how this can work to prompt you to keep on cranking out pages?
