You've Got This Tuesday: Know Yourself (Writing and Publishing Checklist - Part 1)

Happy Tuesday sweet friends and welcome to another edition of You've Got This Tuesday where I share wonderful on-writing and publishing tips, tools and tricks so you can take your Author-preneurship to the next level.

Today, I'm kicking off Part 1 of a 4-Part Series which will give you a fantastic checklist to use throughout your writing and publishing career.

So...let's dive in...

When you begin your writing and publishing journey, it's vital that you know who you are as a person and as a writer. To do that, begin by answering the following questions (keeping in mind that there are no right or wrong answers here, only what's right for YOU!):

1. Why do you write?

2. What kind of a writer are you?

(for example...do you plot everything or write by the seat of your pants; do you write fast or slow; how well do you know the craft of writing; etc.)

3. Who are your readers?

4. How many readers do you want to reach?

5. How many books do you want to write?

6. What genre(s) do you enjoy writing in?

7. Are you comfortable using social media to market yourself? And, if you're not comfortable, are you willing to learn how to use it or would you prefer to hire someone to do it for you?

8. Do you want to design your own covers, format your books and upload them (in ebook and print formats) or do you need help with this?

9. Authors I Love Are...

10. Six Words That Describe Me Are...

11. Six Words That Describe My Writing Are...

Again...there are no right or wrong answers to any of these questions...just write down the answers straight from your heart and soul.

These are the questions that determine how we build your writing and publishing career...

And...here's a fun little tidbit...keep in mind that your answers to some of these questions (or all of them) may change as you change and your career goals change.
