Happy Tuesday sweet friends and welcome to another edition of You've Got This Tuesday where I share wonderful on-writing and publishing tips, tools and tricks so you can take your Author-preneurship to the next level.
Today, I'm sharing Part 2 of a 4-Part Series which will give you a fantastic checklist to use throughout your writing and publishing career.
So...let's get going...now that you Know Yourself (and if you missed Part 1 or need a refresher, you can get it here)...
There are several things you need to consider as you're beginning the process of writing a book, such as:
1. Your Writing Space
2. Day One Page One
(in other words...how to actually go about typing your manuscript using Microsoft Word which is the source file you need for all self-publishing platforms)
3. Take stock of your writing craft knowledge and skills and brush up, if you necessary, on the following:
a. Your writing voice and hooking readers
b. Plotting skills including techniques like GMC (Goal-Motivation-Conflict) and Scene-Sequel
c. POV (Point of View) - going deep inside your characters' heads and hearts
d. The Edits System
4. Collaging as a WIP of your WIP
5. Write at least 15 minutes per day
6. Master these tools to maintain your BITCHOK Groove (Butt In The Chair Hands On Keyboard):
a. Warm-up Exercises, including journaling, blogging, hand-writing and free-writing on how and what you are feeling right now
b. Writing Bi-Polar: I Suck vs I'm a Genius
c. Make writing a part of your daily routine
Okay...these are the skill-sets I highly recommend you learn and adapt to your writing style to help build, grow and sustain your writing and publishing career.
